A quick look at some of our most commonly asked questions.
Yes! We think this is really important as it builds our relationship and makes things just easier on the day. We schedule a video call a few weeks before the wedding to sit down and go through the timings of your day together, create your formal photos list and just talk about how you want the day to go. And if you want to come and meet us in person then even better.
As standard you get one Videographer with the Videography package and one Photographer with the Photography package. Book both Photography & Videography and you get the two of us. We can offer additional shooters if the event requires it, just let us know your requirements. It’s part of our approach to keep a small footprint on your wedding day so we will always try and keep this as minimal as possible.
The editing is where the magic happens and this takes on the approximate schedule:
- 1-2 weeks receive your preview photographs
- 4-6 weeks receive your full collection of photographs via your Online Gallery (USB shipped out to you if photography only package)
- 14-18 weeks receive your films via your Online Gallery and have your USB shipped out to you!
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express Card payments.
Whether we have or haven’t, we are capturing you first and foremost, not the building. Of course it helps to know the layout of a venue so if we haven’t been there before we always get there early on the day to see where everything is and make a plan for the best spots to shoot in. Having shot weddings for over 21 years across the UK and Europe, we are confident that wherever we are we will get amazing results.
BOOKING
The sooner the better! Due to our demand we get booked up far in advance with the average couple booking 12-18 months before their date. So if you want to make sure you can secure us for your big day then give us a call. Most couples tend to book their venue first and once they have done that the photographer and videographer is usually next on the wedding planning list.
You’ve seen the light and we love that you love what we do here. If you are ready to book then just let us know and we will send over an official Quote. This will effortlessly take you through the whole booking process.
A booking deposit of £400 is required to secure a Videography or Photography booking and confirm the date with us. If you are booking BOTH Photography and Videography then a deposit of £800 is required to confirm and book the date with us. This deposit is then subtracted from your package total.
We’re human too and we know it’s a lot of money to find in the early stages of wedding planning. If the deposit amount is the sticking point then talk to us and we can set up a payment plan so you can still book us in now.
Yes you can. And equally you can book us just for our Photography. But wait. Before you do – we offer a tasty discount for booking us for both Photography & Videography. In addition to this there are huge benefits to having us provide both services making the process super smooth and seamless for you throughout. Giving you a harmonious collection of films and photographs that compliment one another beautifully.
LOGISTICS
Absolutely. While we are based in sleepy Somerset, we cover the whole of the UK. No matter where your wedding is taking place, we can help.
We include a 70 mile roundtrip from our Somerset base free of charge in every package. For weddings over 90 minutes away, the booking may be subject to an overnight stay charge of £225. Any travel charges will be included in your Quote before you book.
Yes, yes and yes! We sure do and have been lucky enough to capture weddings in other countries such as Spain, France and Croatia. Get in touch to find out more so we can quote for you.
Working out the logistics of the day with you is a huge part of our pre wedding process and communication. We will look at the timings with you and advise what can be captured and then whether a second shooter is required to capture elements taking place away from the main action. Our extensive experience comes in to play here as we assess elements such as parking, traffic, contingenices for delays and more in order to work out how to capture what you want. Proper preparation and planning prevents poor performance!
If you do need a second shooter to capture your day alongside the main videographer or photographer then for a full day package this is £600. For a half day package this is £350.
Yes you can and we hope you do! Communication with you is a top priority for us throughout the process. So catching up with you about your day goes without saying. We send out a questionnaire 1 month before your wedding to start gathering info for when we do meet. We then aim to meet around 1-2 weeks before the day when timings are finalised. This can be done either in person or if you are unable to travel to us then we will set up a video call to e-meet! And any time you want to do this just let us know so we can arrange it and talk weddings!
TECHNICAL
Well that’s a very personal question! But ok, we don’t mind sharing our tools with you. For photography we use the Sony A1 camera and Sony A7 III camera with a mix of prime and zoom lenses. For videography we swear by Panasonic’s Lumix cameras, in particular the Lumix S5IIX, S5 and S1H cameras which are Netflix approved. So you know, you could technically try to put your wedding film on Netflix.
To get technical we use the Rode Wireless Pro Microphones and they are incredible at capturing solid audio. As important as picture is sound, if not more important. So we make sure that we know in advance if anyone is going to say something of importance and bring the appropriate microphones. Typically, we use a small wireless lavalier mic which discretely clips onto a jacket collar or similar.
Throughout your editing process we keep 3 copies of your content! This is for backup and security purposes which we take very seriously since these images CANNOT be replaced! Once your films and photographs have been delivered to you we then keep your raw content for 30 days while your edited content is kept for as long as possible. If you lose your digital copies then get in touch with us so we can see if we can still help.
Yes you can. We offer a raw footage option after the wedding so you can have everything we captured before it is removed from our systems. Please ask us for more details if this is something that you are interested in.
Our films are captured in 4K UHD which translates to 3840×2160 pixels. Our main films are presented in a widescreen ratio for that cinematic look that we have become known for. So your cinematic film is presented in 3840×1634 pixels. We also provide you with a HD (1920×1080 pixels) copy of every film too for ultimate compatibility.
In order to remain within copyright law we license a particular music selection for your film. This allows it to be watched anywhere you like, anywhere in the world online and on any device, forever. You are welcome to choose from this library however you might get overloaded with choice! We normally make selections based on the tempo of the film at any point and music which we feel suits your day and story. If on receiving your finished film you think that a different track would be more effective then let us know and we can change it for you no problem.
YOUR PHOTOS & FILMS
We give you a great selection of images from across your day, all beautifully edited with our signature look. Every wedding day is different and so the ammount of images we deliver is not a fixed number. On average though we deliver approximately 1000 colour images for a full day package and around 500 colour images for a half day package. In addition to this we also deliver each and every one of those images in a beautiful black and white version too. So in total you will receive approximately 2000 images for a full day package and approximately 1000 images for a half day package.
Depending on your package we usually deliver 3 films. A Full Ceremony Film, a Full Speeches Film and your main Cinematic Wedding Film (approx 5-10 mins). The length of your Ceremony and Speeches films are as long as they were on the day.
Yes! Your package includes an online gallery which has the feature to order numerous types of photographic prints and products including some albums too, all delivered to your door.
The standard albums in your online gallery are priced from £85 for a 6×6 lay flat album and increase from there depending on size and number of pages and cover material. The wedding albums available to buy in your online gallery only scrape the surface of what we can create for you.
If you would like a more bespoke album then we can offer a range of beautiful books to start your own creation from. These books start from £150 and increase from there depending on size, number of pages, personalisations, accessories and materials used. We will design your album’s layout which you can view, approve and make changes to all through the comfort of your online gallery for an easy process of album creation from start to finish.
Once your films and photographs are ready you will be invited to access your online gallery. This is a beautiful place to view your images and films along with the option to purchase gifts, thank you cards, albums and prints and more. With your online gallery login you will be able to download your photographs and soon we will be bringing this same feature to your films too.
In addition to your online gallery, most packages also include a personalised USB which has your names on it and presented in a beautiful light grey velvet case. Your USB contains the digital files of your photographs (.jpeg) and films (.mp4) which you can copy and back up to your own devices once you receive it. No watermarks appear on your images.
