Back in 2003, while I was knee-deep in learning film and video production at UCA university, I had a video camera (quite the rarity in those days) and naturally I got asked to shoot a wedding. That was the moment I put my Hollywood dreams on hold to become a professional wedding videographer. I saw a golden opportunity to revolutionize wedding videos, which, let’s be honest, had been pretty dull for years.
By blending my cinematic skills with the world of weddings, I started creating something truly special that resonated with couples and stood out from the rest.
Fast forward over 22 years, and I’ve become a bit of a wedding videography and photography guru. My passion is all about capturing your day in the most spectacular way possible, so you can relive those precious memories as if you were there all over again.

I grew up in the quaint town of Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, where small-town charm sparked my love for capturing everyday moments. And frankly it hasn’t stopped ever since!
I went on to pursue a Master’s in Astrophysics at Lancaster University. While the universe captivated me, my passion for photography blossomed, and I found myself constantly snapping shots of nature’s beauty.
Fast forward to my photography career: for over 15 years, I’ve been a wedding photographer, loving every moment of capturing couples’ happiest days. Each wedding is unique, brimming with emotions and traditions. My approach is to blend into the background, catching candid, genuine moments that tell a true story. Weddings keep me on my toes, and I thrive on their diversity, ensuring each shot is authentic and memorable.

I got my first camera at 12 years old, a Sony Mini DV camcorder and I felt like I’d discovered a whole new world. What started as short films quickly developed into a full-blown love affair with wedding storytelling. Add a passion for tech and computing (which I studied in college) the path to becoming a wedding videographer was pretty much set in stone.
When I’m not shooting weddings, you’ll find me wrangling a classroom of primary school kids aged 5 to 11, a responsibility I absolutely love. Both roles require quick thinking and a boatload of empathy, perfect for understanding and telling wedding stories and bringing out the best in kids’ development.
I’m also a proud dad to two beautiful girls, a gym lover and a car enthusiast. I’m a self-declared Whovian, Tennant can cook me a meal any day!

Our ORIGIN STORY
It all began on the 5th April 2003
This photo is literally where it all started – taken from the very first wedding we ever captured. It was 5th April 2003 and Sam was still working on his Film & Video Production degree in Surrey when he was asked to start capturing wedding videos. This slowly developed into a business and so ‘Moving Images UK’ was born and then became a Limited company in 2007 as White Villa Films Limited.
This wedding videography company set about to specialise in creating cinematic wedding films that had a heart and were punctuated by filmmaking techniques and styles that we learned and loved. It soon became known as White Villa Photography & Films and over the years we have expanded the team and our services to include wedding photography, wedding live streaming and destination weddings. Developing quickly into a luxury wedding videography and photography brand based in the UK.
The South West remains our home, where our brand is strongest and we have a loyal client base. We proudly cover a number of local wedding venues as their recommended suppliers and our focus is always on maintaining a leading edge quality and service. And quite simply, we love what we do and continue to do so!
